So the time has flown by and I can't believe we are leaving the country tomorrow. Between all the Christmas chaos and having to pack up all our personal belongings from our apartment in Columbia, SC, going to NYC for four days over the New Year's weekend, and preparing for 4 months in Mexico, packing has been pretty stressful. It's currently 29 degrees here in Greensboro and 63 in Guadalajara so it's been a challenge picturing myself in sundresses and sandals in just a couple of days. Another issue is the extremely wide range of temperatures that occur in just one day there. For example, today the high is going to be 73 degrees and the low is 36, so i guess layers are going to be the way to go.
Tomorrow morning we leave out of Raleigh, stop in Atlanta, Atlanta to Mexico City, then Mexico City to Guadalajara, Jalisco. The flights are only going to be a few hours so it won't be a brutal trip.
We have gotten one thing taken care of since my last post, which is our hostel that we will be staying in for a few nights while we try to find an apartment and figure out the city. The website makes the place (Hostel Galeria) look pretty awesome, but only time will tell. We will probably ask around once we get there and see if anyone knows of good places/tactics to find available apartments. Hopefully, we can find a decent place with cheap rent in a relatively safe neighborhood.
I promise the posts will get more interesting as we start traveling and taking photos.
